Onyeka Nwlue is a Nigerian travelling writer who is not afraid to share his opinion on tropical
issues,he made this shocking revelation on his facebook page.Read what he said below..
"Rather than live in Nigeria, I spent time this evening, talking to a friend on how I can approach the Norwegian or Swedish police and walk majestically into their prisons. Or even camps and just live there - write, watch TV, interact with other inmates and stay out of trouble and also, PHONE CALLS!
Sounds stupid, eh? Oh okay, I understand that living in prisons in Europe is better than living in Nigeria. When you talk about independence and freedom, you don't have any freedom in Nigeria. Did you realise that you can be in your house and Nigerian police will come with handcuffs and take you away without an Arrest Warrant? They will just say, Oga say make you come to the station. If you no follow us now, we go beat you.
On the road, Hey, we are here for Stop and Search. Travelling with ABC Shuttle from Enugu to Owerri last time, I was singled out and everything I carried was ransacked. Maybe, this is why this idea came. I mean, I am not going to work in the prison; I will eat food, drink water, watch TV, read book, write and sleep. It's fine if I don't get to see anyone - that way, I can concentrate and finish lots of books that I have to write...
My only problem is that if I travel to Norway and beg them to lock me up, they will laugh at me and maybe throw me back to Nigeria
