Read Ifeanyi Ubah's touching message to the world after CONFED Cup victory

It has been a long, exhaustive and bumpy ride in our quest to rewrite history. Anambra state has long remained in the doldrums of football affairs in Nigeria. It was high time for a reminder; Nigeria and Africa needed to be reminded of Anambra state and her mettle; by the grace of God, we have made a statement, a resounding one at that.

We came into this season with one goal, to clinch a continental ticket. The journey to our triumph was not the smoothest but its actualization is testament to our dedication, doggedness and vision. Our ambition appeared too high for many as they doubted the possibility of attaining our aspirations. But as Colin Powel said 'a dream does not become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hardwork' and these three qualities were never missing on our way to the top. Today, we are champions of the NFF Federation Cup which is no mean feat as no club in the history of the Federation Cup has ever won this much coveted trophy just after one year of its existence.

In all, I would like to give all the glory to God Almighty; for he alone is worthy of all praise and adoration. Without God, the celebratory mood we find ourselves in today would have been a mirage and our dreams would have been best qualified as an illusion. Father, we exalt thee!

To the Management and players of FC Ifeanyi Ubah led by our indefatigable Chairman, Mr. Chukwuma Ubah, words can and will not suffice to explain my heartfelt gratitude to you and your team for taking this club to such lofty heights. You all have been wonderful and I wish to express my sincere appreciation to you all for pushing the club to achieve the unprecedented. Kudos!

We could not have gotten this far without the prayers and support of our invaluable supporters and fans who constitute the soul of the club. Your constant resolve to go the extra mile with the team not minding the hazards presented by road and air travels is so reassuring . I wish to say a resounding THANK YOU for being our pillar and backbone. Your undying support has remained evergreen and your belief in the team has driven us to success. Your voices and presence made Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium a fortress and your travails with us under the rain and in the sun on the road made us a tough nut to crack. We promise to make you proud on the continental stage.

I would like to specially thank H.E., Governor Willie Obiano for his prayers and support towards the achievement of this historic feat. History was made under your administration and I am delighted that together, we made this happen.

Like H.E. Governor Obiano rightly noted in his congratulatory note, this victory is a gift to Ndi Anambra and I would like every Anambrarian to savour the triumphant moment. As we take on Africa, your continued support would be vital to the realization of our dreams and I implore you to never wither.

We came! We saw! We conquered! and now, we are ready to take on Africa.

As we enter into the next phase of this project, it is worthy to note that our triumph is now history. Our future is unknown and the dreams we have for her are tall. While it is alright for some of us might to still bask in the euphoria of winning the Federation Cup, I would like to declare that our dream chasing - to emerge as Champions of Africa starts NOW!
